…it’s my first completed quilt top of 2011!
Yep, it’s Gman’s black and red quilt. Not sure of a name for it. Suggestions on a postcard please.
Next step is to quilt it…not sure how yet though

This looks really great. It feels so good to finish a project doesn’t it?

Cute decisions for the border and adding the third color. I like the way you did that – and the way the background is with different blacks. Nice job! Must feel great to be ready for the quilting stage now!

Are those log cabin blocks? Not usually something that takes my fancy, but these ones look great. In that tradition I’d suggest a name like ‘Home fires,’ which is a nod to the tradition of a red centre in a log cabin block and to me connotes love and caring. I haven’t read the history of this quilt so forgive me if this is a total mismatch with your design intent.
Well done on a finish so early in the year.

Thanks for your comments, ladies. Yep, Jan & June it certainly does feel good to finish a project. That’s why I think I am going to concentrate on making smaller quilts this year lol.
Mosaicthinking – yep, that’s a log cabin in the centre. I like your choice of name – this quilt is for my son so love and caring is a lovely thought
